General Service Questions

Do I need an appointment, or do you accept walk-ins?

Appointments are the best way to guarantee a time that works for you — especially for brake service or repairs that require specific parts. We do our best to accommodate walk-ins when our schedule allows. We open at 7:30am Monday through Thursday and Friday, which is earlier than most shops in Hutchinson.

Do you service vehicles that aren't Jeep, Ram, Dodge, or Chrysler?

Yes — all makes and models are welcome. While we're Mopar Certified experts for CDJR vehicles, our technicians service Ford, Chevrolet, GMC, Toyota, Honda, Subaru, Nissan, and every other vehicle on the road. You don't need to own a Jeep or Ram to use our service center.

Do I have to buy my vehicle from you to get it serviced here?

Not at all. We service vehicles regardless of where you purchased them. If you live or work near Hutchinson, MN, you're welcome in our service drive.

Where are you located and what are your service hours?

Jay Malone CDJR is located at 1165 Highway 7 West, Hutchinson, MN 55350. Service hours are Monday through Thursday 7:30am–5:30pm and Friday 7:30am–5:00pm. Call us at (320) 587-4748.

🛢️ Oil Change Questions

How much does an oil change cost at Jay Malone CDJR?

Oil changes at Jay Malone CDJR start at $75 for conventional oil. Every oil change includes a tire rotation, full multi-point inspection, battery test, and fluid top-off — so you're comparing full-service pricing, not just the oil change itself.

Compare before you decide: When you add up the tire rotation, inspection, and battery test bundled into our service, our pricing is directly competitive with every shop on Highway 7. See the full oil change breakdown →

What's included in a Jay Malone CDJR oil change?

Every oil change includes: genuine Mopar® oil and filter (for CDJR vehicles), tire rotation and pressure check, comprehensive multi-point inspection, brake system inspection, battery test, fluid level check and top-off, belts and hoses inspection, and a digital inspection report sent to your phone.

How often should I get an oil change on my Jeep, Ram, Dodge, or Chrysler?

Most modern CDJR vehicles recommend oil changes every 5,000–7,500 miles for conventional oil, and every 7,500–10,000 miles for full synthetic. Newer Ram EcoDiesel and Jeep 4xe plug-in hybrid models have specific oil requirements — our Mopar Certified advisors will check your vehicle's factory specification and recommend the right interval for your specific model.

Does Jay Malone CDJR use genuine Mopar® oil and filters?

Yes. For Jeep, Ram, Dodge, and Chrysler vehicles, we use genuine Mopar® oil and filters — the factory-spec parts engineered for your engine. For other makes and models, we use the manufacturer-recommended oil type and viscosity. Using the correct oil matters, especially for HEMI, Pentastar, EcoDiesel, and 4xe engines where oil specification directly affects performance and warranty coverage.

Is a dealer oil change more expensive than the shops on Highway 7?

Our oil change starts at $75 — competitive with Auto Xpress, Hutchinson Co-Op, and other shops on Highway 7. The difference is what's bundled in: tire rotation, a full multi-point inspection, battery test, and a digital inspection report. Price those separately at a quick-lube and the dealer typically comes out ahead on value. See the full comparison →

🛑 Brake Service Questions

How much does brake service cost at Jay Malone CDJR?

Brake service pricing varies based on your vehicle, axle, rotor condition, pad type, and caliper condition. A Ram 2500 with a towing package has different brake components than a Jeep Compass. We quote accurately after a proper inspection — call (320) 587-4748 or schedule online and Brady's team will give you an itemized quote before any work begins.

Why we don't post a price: Quoting one number without knowing your vehicle's actual condition would be misleading. We'd rather be honest. Read the full explanation of what affects brake pricing →

Do Mopar® brake parts come with a warranty?

Yes. Genuine Mopar® brake parts installed by our Mopar Certified technicians come with factory warranty coverage. This is not available when using aftermarket parts from independent shops. For Jeep, Ram, Dodge, and Chrysler owners, Mopar® parts are factory-engineered for your vehicle's specific braking system. See your service advisor for full warranty terms and coverage details.

Can Jay Malone CDJR service the electronic parking brake on my Jeep or Ram?

Yes. Newer Jeep Grand Cherokee, Ram 1500, and several other CDJR models use electronic parking brake actuators that require specialized software and tooling to service properly. Our Mopar Certified technicians have the factory-required equipment to retract, replace, and recalibrate electronic parking brake systems. Many independent shops in Hutchinson do not have this capability.

How do I know if I need brake pads, rotors, or both?

A proper inspection tells you. We measure pad thickness and check rotor condition on every brake inspection. Squealing usually means worn pads. Grinding or vibration often means rotor damage. Pulling to one side can indicate a stuck caliper — especially common in Minnesota's salt environment on Ram trucks and Jeeps. Our complimentary brake inspection diagnoses exactly what your vehicle needs.

Does Jay Malone CDJR offer free brake inspections?

Yes. We include a complimentary brake inspection with every service visit. If you have specific brake concerns, call (320) 587-4748 and we'll schedule a dedicated inspection. We check pads, rotors, calipers, lines, brake fluid, ABS sensors, and electronic parking brake systems — then tell you exactly what we found before recommending any work.
