What’s the difference between dent removal and paintless dent repair?
They’re the same thing. Paintless dent repair (PDR) is the industry name for what most people call dent removal — a technique where trained technicians work dented metal back to its original shape from behind the panel without cutting, filling, or repainting. PDR is the standard solution for hail damage, door dings, and minor parking lot dents when the factory paint is undamaged. Because the original finish stays intact, dent removal through PDR is typically faster and less expensive than traditional bodywork — and it preserves resale value better than repainted panels.
How much does dent removal cost in Hutchinson, MN?
Dent removal cost depends on the size, depth, and number of dents being repaired — a single door ding is very different from light hail damage spread across multiple panels. Does Jay Malone’s body shop work with my insurance company?
Yes. We work with all major insurance companies including State Farm, Allstate, Progressive, American Family, GEICO, Farm Bureau, Liberty Mutual, Nationwide, and USAA. We handle the paperwork, submit supplements directly, and keep your adjuster updated so you don’t have to. If you’ve already filed a claim, just bring your claim number and adjuster info — we take it from there. We also honor approved estimates from other shops when needed.
How long does collision repair take at Jay Malone CDJR?
It depends on the damage. A minor bumper repair or paintless dent repair can often be completed in two to three days. Moderate collision work with panel replacement typically takes five to ten business days. Major structural or frame repair can take two to four weeks, especially when parts need to be ordered. Ryan will give you a realistic timeline during your free estimate — and a free loaner vehicle is available throughout the repair.
Do I need an appointment for a body shop estimate?
Appointments are recommended but not required. Does Jay Malone repair hail damage in Minnesota?
Yes — hail damage is one of our most common repairs, especially May through August when Central Minnesota storms are most active. Hail damage is almost always covered under comprehensive insurance (not collision), which typically doesn’t affect your rates. For light to moderate damage on undamaged paint, paintless dent repair (PDR) — also called dent removal — can restore your vehicle without affecting its factory finish. Does the body shop work on all makes and models, or only Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram?
All makes and models. While we’re a Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram dealership, our I-CAR certified collision technicians work on every manufacturer — Chevrolet, GMC, Toyota, Honda, Subaru, Nissan, Hyundai, Kia, Mazda, Volkswagen, and more. We source OEM or OEM-equivalent parts for every brand. If it drives, we fix it.
